1995 Brand NEW in box EMERSON's BRASS MAGNIFIER *Barnes & Noble 1995* Engraveable!. The piece is 2.75 inches in diameter. 5/8 inch thick. Around the edge is the saying "Tis the good book that makes the good reader"  by Ralph Waldo Emerson. This is a beautiful and handy 3x power magnifying glass. It swings in and out (though attached) of the holder, which is shiny brass. I have had one that stays out on and end table for 25 years and it hasn't tarnished at all. I had it engraved with an anniversary date and names of my husband and myself and we have enjoyed the keepsake and use it frequently as a magnifying glass. The weight is almost a half pound (approx 7 oz) and can be used as a desk paperweight, or just in a handy spot to grab when needed. I bought several from Barnes & Noble in 1995 and have given a couple as gifts, this being the last one in my gift drawer. The box is 3.5 x 6 inches and an inch thick.
